Delete your account

1. From the app

The steps are the same on iOS and Android:

• open Popcorn Club and go to the Profile tab;
• tap the Settings icon at the top of the screen;
• choose Delete my account, then confirm with Delete.

Deletion is immediate and permanent: it cannot be undone. An internet connection is required. The app then starts over with a new, empty account.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account: delete it from Settings first, or request deletion by email (section 4).

2. What is deleted

Deletion permanently erases:

• your account and its technical ID, your username (which becomes available again) and your avatar;
• your popcorns, missions, streak, chests and unlocked avatar items;
• your history: watched movies, ratings, Letterboxd import, favorites, lists and watchlist;
• your reviews and your messages in the movie of the day feed, as well as the likes you gave;
• your Club votes (tonight's mood, duel, weekly vote);
• your presence among the viewers of the movie of the day;
• the reports you filed or that concern you, and the blocks you made or received;
• the token used to send you notifications.

Your ratings are removed from community averages and your likes from other members' counters.

3. What is kept, and for how long

• Aggregated results: results of votes that have already closed and movies already scheduled stay visible. They contain no data that identifies you.
• Bans: if your account was banned for breaching the terms of use, its technical ID, the date and the reason for the sanction are kept while the sanction is in force, to prevent it from coming back.
• Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics): pseudonymous and not linked to your username, they are erased automatically after 14 months at most.
• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): erased automatically after 90 days.
• Server technical logs, which may mention your account ID: erased automatically after 30 days at most.
• Your request email, if you write to us: kept while we process the request and to keep a record of it, for one year at most.

4. Request deletion by email

If you cannot use the app (lost device, app uninstalled…), email maxsimd0@gmail.com with the subject “Account deletion”. Include:

• your account ID, shown in Profile › Settings › Account ID: tap it to copy it;
• otherwise, your username and the platform you use (iOS or Android).

Accounts are anonymous, so we have neither your name nor your email: without an account ID or username, we cannot find your account. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm the deletion by replying to your email.
